Chapter 5

John Smith

John Smith helped Jamestown survive, more than the other two leaders. Maybe she should've led the settlers. John Smith was liked by the hardworkers, hated by "gentlemen." Smith's coat of arms has a peculiar history. Smith be-headed three turks. The Hungarian prince granted John an appreciation gift, the coat of arms. One day, John was captured by Powhatan. A servant held an axe above his head. Pochahontas came out and layed her head on his. Some Powhatans liked J. Smith, some tried setting traps.Pochahontas saved J. Smith, twice. Pochahontas warned John. Once, Smith was stabbed by a stingray. Thinking he wouldn't recover, he dug up his grave. Fortunately, he lived (and ate the ray as his revenge!!).
